For sale: Australian Shepherd puppies playing in high clover (and fescue)!

Happy days with the puppies playing in the hay fields. They bob up and down and now you see them, now you don't! Mom herded them in a big loop.

We can ship anywhere just about! Have already sent one to Sacramento, CA, and also Michigan. Best farm raised pups anywhere!

The face of determination!
My personal award for the most miles traveled in the Smokies--on foot, of course--go to Steve and Bettina, now dear friends and 3 time visitors to Creekwalk and our cabins. Thanks for visiting and safe travels...

Australian Shepherd Puppies, 8 weeks old!

We had fun with the puppies today after a beautiful wedding, lots of good food, and great weather. Kelsey, my daughter, returns from her 4H trip tomorrow and the pups go back to her house. I will miss them! They are such fun to walk with after they realize they can't be directly under foot.
Just about the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. Our bed and breakfast guests have been enjoying lots of wiggles and laughs!

Bicycling in Cades Cove great fun for Creekwalk Inn guests

Tifton gets the fire going by waving a towel for bellows. We grilled in the picnic area at Cades Cove and then rode the loop on Mother's Day. Great fun for a day outdoors in the Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, TN. The drive from Cosby is one of the most beautiful drives in America, along 321 to Gatlinburg, then along the Little River between Gatlinburg and Cades Cove. Lots of fly fisherman in the river on our return trip. Beautiful fun day with family.

Artichoke dip a favorite at our Tennessee Bed and Breakfast

Try herbs from Provence in cold pressed olive oil for dipping not just bread, but your artichoke leaves. This is a favorite with our guests at Creekwalk Inn...
relaxing and delicious. We added a little fresh pesto to the mix, and herbs from the window box.

Dinner at Whisperwood Farm...dining around Gatlinburg, TN

.
Kelsey, about to graduate from Walter State Culinary Arts School, creates another amazing culinary dinner for guests. The menu begins with a cool bean and orange soup, moves on to this scrumptuous strawberry broccoli floret salad, then artichokes dipped in olive oil and French herbs, then wood charred rib eye steaks hot from the grill. The dessert was an apricot sauce over apricot bars with whipped cream topping/

Rotary Club Picnic and Fundraiser a big success!

Enjoyed a fun evening with fellow rotarians! I'm a new member and thrilled to be a part of the club that inspired my dad years ago. He was president of his club and always told me about the 4 laws. I was brought up on them! So being part of the club is fun and I hope you enjoy these photos of the annual picnic fundraiser in Gatlinburg.

Family friendly cabin on the farm, plus romantic anniversary specials, Romantic Gatlinburg Bed and Breakfast

The cabin on the farm is family friendly. We just had a great article in Blue Ridge Country Magazine. Check out the May-June issue for farm photos and a story about Whisperwood Farm hosting Joe Tennis and family while they enjoyed white water rafting, llama trekking, and more! The photo of Little John watching Denton play the fiddle is one of my favorites. Across from Creekwalk Inn, on the other side of the farm, our farm cabin makes room for children...the upstairs loft bedroom with full jacuzzi bath gives you privacy downstairs in the comfortable king bed. The kids love the "treehouse" feel of the upstairs. Most of the time the cabin is a romantic getaway for two, but if the family wants to come, there's room.

One of the fun romantic escapes to a waterfall from Creekwalk Inn...Grotto falls has a cave you can stand in behind the waterfall! Romantic hike and not too far, just 1.2 miles to the waterfall (each way).

Our hot tub suites with private romance gardens with fire rings in the great out of doors set a special mood for celebration. We can deliver breakfast to your private porch, if you like.. We delight in setting the mood for relaxation. If you want an early breakfast and picnic lunch to hike one of the trails, just let us know. Some of the favorites are Grotto Falls, Albright Grove Loop, Midnight Hole, Mount Cammerer, Hen Wallow Falls, Ramsey Cascade, and Porter Creek. I could keep adding to this list, as our guests have journeyed to lots of trail heads in their passion for hiking the park. We have backpacks you can use and our well water is the best for your water bottles. Our chapel is available if you would like to wed or renew vows.

Sometimes just a quiet walk around the farm, meeting the horses, is bliss. My favorite horse Spot (his fancy name is "A Fancy Bug", believe it or not!) makes for great scenery, along with the other horses. We have a parade of breeds: an Arabian mare Sapphire, a Thoroughbred mare Tura, a quarter horse gelding Blaze, a Thorcheron gelding Dreamcatcher...all good friends.

Winter Weddings in the Smokies

Just had a bride checking out our place for a winter wedding. Thought you might enjoy the amazing photography of Nick and Abby's wedding from January 9th, 2010. We had lots of snow and zero temperatures, so how these great photographers got them outdoors for these photos, I can't imagine! It was a beautiful family reunion with Abby's folks flying in from Amsterdam, her brother from China, and Nick and Abby from Atlanta. We wish you all well and enjoy the memories of your celebration here at the farm-- a Gatlinburg family reunion and Gatlinburg wedding escape.
Of course, any time of year is perfect in the Great Smoky Mountains for your Tennessee bed and breakfast escape! We offer anniversary dinners with filet mignon or rack of lamb or grilled salmon, or your favorite menu item--just call and chat with the chef. We custom shop for you and specialize in intimate design of your weekend to include great food, lots of relaxation, and fun in the Smoky Mountains.
The photo is the drive into one of our off farm cabins just for two. You can come on down to breakfast if you don't want to sleep in!

Sacred Space...connecting guests to nature

The making of sacred space

I welcome guests to my bed and breakfast and cabins with a passion I don’t understand…until I go away for a few days and feel malnourished for beautiful spaces.
I find as I return home and gather flowers, light candles, and whack down cobwebs that I’m not so much cleaning and decorating as I am preparing for the divine. I am entering a comfort zone for the spirit.
This is not show space. I see lots of that and am amazed by its apparent splendor, yet left empty. The beauty of sacred space is that it can be created anywhere. It is not about investment or things. It is a breath of fresh air, or an angle of light, or the fragrance of a flower. It is the space that lets me see into the invisible. It is the magic wardrobe in C.S. Lewis’s “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” where somehow the door is open and the next world, happening right alongside this world, is felt and experienced.
I realize my passion for creating “home” for myself and my guests is a visit to a world of spirit that we both share. Sometimes it takes traveling to come home—home to a space that gently welcomes all of you-- body, mind and spirit.
Best wishes to the Widener family, who will be apart for a few months but share the sacred space of love for each other, and the memories of a beautiful wedding at Whisperwood Farm!
